I am writing to you from the future when Big Brother and the Inner party control everything. Maybe back then they did not have ways to get inside our head and change your mind completely about what you see and do, but times have changed. Big Brother is always watching over everybody and makes sure you are fallowing all and every rule.
I live in Oceania, one of two other countries; Eurasia, and Eastasia. Big Brother is the superior and wants everyone to love him forever. He does this by putting telescressn in every room of every place, so you are being watched all the time. He has the inner party who helps him fine the people who don’t really love him and is just faking it. The thought police will break into your house at night and take you to the ministry of love if they suspect that you are lie in. the ministry of love is a place of the complete opposite of love. It is a place where they will torture you until you are force to love big brother. "If you mean confessing, "she said," We shall do that, right enough. Everybody always confesses. You can’t help it. They torture you." They put your worst fear in front of you and if you don’t confess then it will kill you.
Big Brother has also made up something called double think. “Reality control,” in newspeak, “double think.” It is when you can know that something is a lie but see it as a truth out of your own eyes. For example 2+2=4, but if Big Brother says it equals 5 then you would see it as 2+2=5 from that point on. In the Ministry of Love they can get a person who sees 4 when 4 fingers are held up and torture them to make their eyes and brain see 5 when 4 fingers are help up. They can also do it with a lot of other things. Big Brother can force you to really love him and not just say it. Also, to completely erase your mind of your passes memories.
"If there is hope it lies in the paroles." In Oceania there is 3 groups; inner, outer, and paroles. The Inner party makes up the small portion of people. Then the Outer party and the biggest is the paroles. Paroles are the city people who have normal jobs and do the same routine every day. Even though the inner party makes up the smallest portion they still over thrown and get into people’s heads. They will sneak into your house at night and take away all your family. Then torture you to the point where you tell them to do it to someone you love and not to themselves.
All in all, the inner party and Big Brother can control people minds in different ways. If it is with torture or taking everything away from you. It is possible to control people minds by having their worst fear right in front of them.
